Step 1 – Go to the RDLife Forum homepage (www.rdlife.co.uk) and click on the Register link.
Step 2 – Please, tell us your age. You need to be 18 years or older to be able to register for an RDLife account. Once you’ve selected the correct information from the drop down menus, please click the Register button.
Step 3 – Please read the Terms & Conditions of the RDLife Forum and Blog. A complete set of the rules can be viewed at www.rdlife.co.uk/rules. If you agree, please click the box next to the statement “I have read, understand and agree to these terms & conditions.” Next, click the Register button.
Step 4 – Please provide us with what you would like your Username to be. This is the name that will appear when you post any messages. Please make it something easy for you to remember, and that expresses something about yourself! Your username must be at least 4 characters long, and can be letters and/or numbers. If the username you would like has already been taken you will be told so, and given another opportunity to enter another username.
Next, please type in your personal email address. We need this to verify that you are registering for yourself, and not for someone else. If you don’t have a personal email address, there are many good free email address providers that you can register with (e.g., www.yahoo.co.uk or www.google.co.uk). We will send you a confirmation email to the address you give us in order to activate your new RDLife account.
Finally, type in what you would like your password to be. This should be a memorable word or phrase (no spaces allowed between the words), and can include letters and/or numbers. Please, do not tell your password to anyone. Just to confirm that you’ve typed in what you think you’ve typed in, please enter your password a second time.
Step 5 – Next you have the option of setting your preferred language, time zone (for those far flung RDLifers!) and providing a “Signature” that you want to automatically appear each time you post to the Forum or Blog. Please, no personal details; no telephone numbers, no email addresses, no mailing addresses. We hope that everyone who participates in the RDLife Forum and Blog will be perfect ladies and gentlemen, but you can never be too safe.
Step 6 – Finally, type in the “Verification Code” that you see in the funny looking grid into the “Confirm Code” space provided. This is annoying, but we have to verify that you are a real living human being, and not some unscrupulous computer trying to pretend to be human. And…very important, please select your “Additional Options” settings. This will determine if you want RDLife to:
- Remember Me? – This will allow the computer you are using to automatically remember your Username and Password. Very handy if you plan on visiting the RDLife Forum and Blog frequently.
- Anonymous Login? – This allows you be “invisible” so to speak, when you are in the Forum and Blog, so other RDLife members will not be able to see if you are logged on.
- Receive email from forum administrators – This option allows us, the RDLife administrators to be able to send you emails.
- Receive emails from Forum members – This allows other RDLife form members to send you a message. No one will ever see your personal email address, but this allows a fellow RDLife member to have RDLife send you an email saying that there is a message waiting for you at RDLife.
Step 7 – Go to your personal email account and open the email from the Forums and Blog RDLife administrator. In the email will be a link that you will need to click in order to activate your account. You will then need to log into RDLife. Please type in your personal email address you provided before, and your password. If all goes well you will then be logged into the RDLife Forum homepage.
If you cannot login, please double check that you entered the correct email address and password, and if that till does not do it, please click the “Request Your Password” link, and a copy of your password will be emailed to your personal email address.
